May 21, 2013

Today the track team are going at 8 a.m. to regionals, so in that way it'll be quiet in my office.  However, the Book Fair is going on, so in that way it'll be a circus!

After school, I went directly to Penney's, but didn't buy anything.  Lots of cute clothes!  I'd rather lose 10 lbs. before I buy anymore.  I need to quit eating everything in sight, meaning sweet snacks.

Then I went to Aldi's and got my blueberries. cheeses, chips like Simply Naked, & some other things.  Got quite a bit for $14.

I drove through HaloBurger and got a junior with mustard, pickles & onions and a small onion ring.  I think the small order gives you as many as the large.

When Gary got home, we went for a short drive after getting me a strawberry sundae and him a pop at McD.  I know I just mentioned those sweet snacks, but he wanted to go to McD!  Normally I would be the one to get the Diet Coke, but tonight I just didn't want that.  My sweet snack problem is that instead of one or two cookies or pieces of candy, I eat the whole bag!

Stopped by the church and picked a bunch of lilacs.  After putting them in a vase in the kitchen, you could smell them all the way to the bedroom!  Mosquitoes are so bad this year that you can't stay out too long and I have a lot of yardwork that needs accomplishing.  My feet are already bitten up.

The Dancing With The Stars finale was tonight, and I was glad that Kellie Pickler won, since Zandaya was an experienced dancer when she went on the show at the beginning of the season.

May 20, 2013

Showed Tonya my horrible polish job from the salon she frequents.  She said it was really bad and that I needed to complain to Megan, the owner.  So I took a picture of the horrendous job on one big toe and texted it to Megan.  Since they were offering a special of $10 shellac nails, due to 1000 likes on Facebook, I was hoping they could get me in and give me an even better deal.  Megan said she would do it herself next week with $10 for the fingernails and free toenails.  Works for me!

Went to my mother's after work and then on to Birch Run.  Just went to Bath & Body Works & got items for two more graduates.  Still need more and to get them organized.  Then went to Arbys & got a turkey onion mini & a chocolate turnover that was free.  I need to quit getting them, even if they are free!

Got my nails done professionally for the first time ever!  It was just a polish on fingers and toes for a $9 special.  I had Tina at Abby Rose and she did a horrible job!  On my fingers, she got it on the cuticles of almost every nail.  Toes were bad, too, and one big toe had the polish thickly gobbed on and all over the cuticle also!

Today was the seniors' last day.  My favorite class ever!  Lots of pictures were taken!

May 12, 2013 (Mother's Day)

A typical Mother's Day for me.  Went to church, got petunias.  Went out to eat with Gary at Big Boy in Clio, my choice.  One of the waitresses had made 500 scented tealights, so all women could take one.  She also had bigger candles for sale.

Didn't do much in the afternoon.  Amanda said we could go to the park with them, but the weather turned bad, so didn't do that.  Christen called yesterday about doing something, but the call dropped in the middle and she never called back.  Laura also wanted to do something for Mother's Day and Grant's birthday.  Ended up that she called at 6:30 or so and we went up to Huckleberry.  She had the table decorated really cute in all black & white and with presents for me, a mum, and a huge balloon that played a song!  Got me several candles and a wax melting thing that I love.  Found out later that she also stuck a $20 WalMart gift card in the candle box.  I can use that!  But she spent way too much.

Gary gave me a beautiful silver bracelet with lilac-colored stones.  Love it!

Also spent time with my mother, of course.  I got her a decoration for her door a week ago and took her pajamas today.  They weren't the cotton she requested, but a cotton knit, so that was chancey!  However, she loved them and I think they'll work well for her.

May 10, 2013 -- PROM!!!

Lots of excitement today as it is the prom of my favorite senior class!  The girls all looked beautiful.  Their mystery trip was to the Rennaissance Center in Detroit and they were happy with that!  The Facebook statuses kept coming in as they arrived and then stopped while they were having fun!

Tin soldiers and Nixon's coming, the anniversary of the Kent State Massacre.

May 3, 2013 (Friday)

Today was the final day of Ms. O'Neil's senior exits.  Love to hear them all!

May 2, 2013 (Thursday)

Today was the first day of Ms. O'Neil's senior exit projects.  As nerve-wracking for me as it is for the kids!  Took a few tries before I could remember the right steps to bring up and close out of each project.  I probably could've did it in fewer steps, but I didn't have time to analyze that!  No time to catch a breath!  The clicker wasn't working well for the kids, so I had to click through each project, which made it go faster, but I didn't always know when to click!  Nice to have Gary there as a panelist with me so we could discuss the day later!
