Used my Seize The Deal coupon at Thompsonville Turkey Farm for lunch today. $5 for a $10 coupon.  Gary and I both had wraps, his was the Fiesta and mine was the Classic. His featured breaded and fried turkey and mine was various deli turkeys.

Went to visit my mom tonight at her nursing home, nursing a frappe from McD on the way (small caramel, always). $1.00 off coupon for that. Stopped at the Rodmans on the way home and hung out for a bit while the kids were getting ready for bed.

Amanda and the kidlets didn't go to church at our church this morning, as she didn't feel well because of allergies when she woke up.  She felt better a bit later and went to her other church. When we got there, Mary was lying face down on the floor, because she'd tripped on the rug.  The ambulance came and they got her up, and she seemed the same as usual.  Bonnie did a sermon on Music in the Church, as Karen is away at pastor's school.

We ate at Classic Coney Island in Genesee after church.  I had my usual Greek Chicken Pita.  I haven't been deviating from that much lately, but everything is good there.  I eat the sandwich innards with a fork and then cut the pita in half to eat it.  Gary had blueberry pancakes.

We ended up going to Twin's later, splitting a chicken strip dinner.  We always think of it as a chicken plank dinner.  I cut my planks into two or three strips.    We get so many, that after I eat one or two and Gary eats his fill, we still have at least two more to take home.    Jen brought us a large slice of cheesecake topped with chocolate to split.

Then we stopped in to see my mother at the nursing home.  I brought her a Vernor's from Twin's, because she loves ginger ale lately. She's doing well and getting stronger, but I'm sure she's bored out of her mind.  Beth and Randy came after a bit, so we could visit with them, too.  Melvin and Glen had been by earlier, but that was in the afternoon.

Still working on getting rid of the skunks to no avail.

Tonight I just had a hamburger and Diet Coke from McDonald's on my way to visit my mother in the nursing home.  After that Gary grabbed a $5 footlong BMT sub on flatbread, so I had about a fourth of that as we sat at the north end of Branch Road looking out over Mott Lake.

Tonight we used another of Gary's birthday coupons obtained online.  We went to Ruby Tuesday's in Fenton, as the Flint one is out-of-business.   We always like Ruby Tuesday's, and it is our favorite salad bar around.

Gary had a burger, maybe it was the All American Burger, which was free.  After partaking of the salad bar and eating his snap peas, he could only eat half the burger, so that came home for later.

I had chicken fresco, which was topped with sliced tomatoes, lemon butter, and a splash of balsamic vinaigrette.  I ordered it with mashed potatoes and green beans.  The green beans could have been better, maybe seasoned with a little garlic butter instead of being plain.  I should just get the soup and salad bar, because that is more than filling.  I used a 25% off coupon for my meal, which I'd gotten in the paper this week.

Tonight we ate at Applebee's.  Gary is hooked on their $5.99 soup and salad lunch, which he upgrades to $7.99 and gets the spinach and shrimp salad along with his tomato basil soup.  I thought I'd try something different tonight and got the orange chicken.  I didn't like it very well.  The orange flavor was too sweet and cloying, so it was a disappointment for Thursday Night, Date Night.  Oh well!

To catch up, Mom went into the hospital Saturday morning after being disoriented and weak.  They said she had low potassium (sometimes it's too high) and sodium and was dehydrated.  No stroke or heart attack, as we were wondering if she'd had a stroke.  Alexa called Sandy when she left for work that morning, and Sandy called me.  Gary and I went down and mom was sitting on the toilet calling for help.  I offered to lift her, but she didn't want me to hurt myself so she allowed Gary to come in and help. He carried her in to bed and she slept for awhile.  I decided I should call her doctor, and he said to take her in to the hospital, so I called for the ambulance.

She was in the hospital until Wednesday, July 6, when her doctor gave the order for her to go into the nursing home.  No idea for how long.  We have a meeting with them in two weeks and will know more then.  We'd like for her to go from there into assisted living if there is an opening and she'll go along with that.  The price is about the same as she is now paying for apartment rent, Lifeline, electric, caregivers, food, etc.
